Pelion was awarded the ‘Oar of Business’ statuette in the first edition of a contest organised by Gazeta Wyborcza to recognise companies which, according to the readers and judging panel, had contributed the most to development of the city and province of Łódź. The statuettes were presented on September 29th 2015 during the 8th European Economic Forum in Łódź.
For a fourth consecutive time, Pelion secured a place in the RESPECT Index, again confirming its adherence to the highest standards of responsible and sustainable business. The official announcement of the Index results and presentation of membership certificates took place at the offices of the Warsaw Stock Exchange on December 16th 2015. The companies had passed a multi-stage qualification process, involving thorough assessment of the extent and comprehensiveness of their stakeholder-focused activities. Among the evaluated areas were business management strategies and techniques, HR and environmental policies, as well as market- and customer-oriented initiatives. Pelion’s inclusion in the RESPECT Index for the fourth time proves that the company runs its business in a responsible and sustainable manner, and that it meets the expectations of its stakeholders, creating partnerships based on trust and transparency. Another inclusion in the RESPECT Index also confirms the soundness of the Company’s core values, which have been the foundation of its everyday activity for 26 years. RESPECT Index is the first index of socially responsible companies in Central and Eastern Europe. The Index represents a valid point of reference for stock market investors, who want to be sure that they invest in companies run to the best-in-class standards of management.
On May 18th 2016, for a fifth time, the Polityka weekly awarded its CSR Leaves to the most socially responsible companies in 2015. Pelion was included in this prestigious ranking for the first time, winning a White CSR Leaf. The award is a token of recognition of the highest standards in sustainable and responsible conduct of business adhered to by the Company in its day-to-day activities. Pelion was one of few companies from the healthcare sector to have received the award.
Pelion ranked 32nd among Poland’s largest companies, according to the 500 List published by Rzeczpospolita in May 2015. The companies were ranked by their 2014 revenues.
Pelion ranked 79th in the list of the 500 largest companies in Central Europe and Ukraine, compiled by the consultancy Deloitte in partnership with Rzeczpospolita, moving up 15 ranks vs 2014. Pelion was also included in the prestigious Index of Success, which reflects the general business climate and the condition of the largest, most dynamically growing companies in Central Europe. The index is based on the ‘Europe 500’ list, and features 30 companies.
Pelion was recognised in the 4th edition of the ‘ESG Analysis of Companies in Poland’, prepared by the Polish Association of Stock Exchange Issuers and GES. The purpose of the ranking is to present companies that best report their non-financial information relating to environmental protection, corporate social responsibility and corporate governance, provided to analysts, investors and other stakeholders. Pelion ranked among the top three companies that best report their ESG data in the healthcare sector, thereby confirming its attractiveness to investors.
The ‘Responsible Business in Poland: Best Practices’ report, published by the Responsible Business Forum for 14 years now, is the most comprehensive review of socially responsible business activities in Poland. Highlighting the best practices of Polish companies in 2015, the report presents 9 original and 5 long-term practices followed by Pelion Group companies. Their inclusion in the report confirms Pelion’s well-established position among the best companies which pursue interesting and socially responsible initiatives that can inspire other businesses.
Polska Grupa Farmaceutyczna S.A. received the ‘Reliable Employer 2014’ title, which proves that PGF is a reliable company with respect to its HR policy, that it cares for its employees and stands out for its organisational culture and human resources management solutions. The gala event during which the statuettes were presented to winners was held on February 12th 2015. The ‘Reliable Employer 2014’ title was awarded to PGF based on a number of criteria, such as high recruitment standards, the quality of incentive schemes, and opportunities for professional development and career progression. PGF takes good care of its staff and is committed to equal treatment of all employees, regardless of their age, status, or life circumstances, offering good welfare facilities, sound incentive schemes, and attractive employee plans. PGF runs tailored training programmes to improve the skills and competencies of its employees. It also offers traineeship and internship schemes for students, with a number of trainees and interns becoming PGF’s new hires.
The DOZ Dbam o Zdrowie brand was awarded the ‘Best Brand 2015 – Consumer Choice’ title. The countrywide survey covered Poland’s 510 strongest food, chemical, and cosmetic brands in 53 categories. The purpose was to identify FMCG brands most appreciated by customers. Winners were selected by consumers surveyed by the GfK Polonia Institute.
DOZ Dbam o Zdrowie and Natura were ranked among the strongest brands on the Polish market, receiving the Created in Poland Superbrands 2015/16 title. The title is awarded to Polish brands based on the findings of a consumer survey conducted by ARC Rynek i Opinia, a research institute. The Natura beauty store chain was awarded the Superbrands title for the third consecutive time, while for DOZ Apteki Dbam o Zdrowie it was the first such distinction.
Magazyn 60+ received a Silver Pearl in the Corporate Social Responsibility category during the Pearl Awards ceremony held in New York on November 10th 2015. Organised by The Content Council, Pearl Awards is the most important and the most prestigious international content marketing contest.

The DOZ Marathon Łódź in partnership with PZU was the first running event in Poland to receive a five-star certificate of the European Athletics Federation, confirming that it is organised to the highest standards. To receive the five stars, the marathon had to meet a number of criteria, related to the safety of runners, clocking their times, measuring the distance, catering for the participants’ needs, ensuring effective communication and help from volunteers. The European Athletics standards had been developed by runners, organisers of running events from across Europe, sports activists and experts from various fields.
